Rug Repair and Restoration

Fringe damage, moth holes, worn edges, and weakened foundations do not need to mean the end of a rug’s life. Our restoration team handles reweaving, fringe repair, edge binding, and structural rebuilding, bringing damaged rugs back to a condition that honors the original craftsmanship.

Area Rug Cleaning

From wool and synthetic blends to jute, sisal, and viscose, area rugs come in a wide range of materials, each with different cleaning requirements. Our area rug cleaning service is matched precisely to your rug’s fiber content and construction for a deep, safe clean.

Where Old World Craftsmanship Meets Modern Standards

The foundation of Shiraz Oriental Rug Cleaning is a simple idea: rug cleaning is a craft. Most rug cleaning establishments in the local area treat all rugs the same. They use equipment that was created for vacuuming carpets wall to wall. This strategy works for area rugs. However, it can do permanent damage to oriental rugs such as Persian, silk Tabriz, or Turkish kilim rugs.

Our rugs are trained in the traditional techniques of rug specialists throughout the centuries, but also with modern, safe rug cleaning technologies. Each rug that arrives at our San Diego facility is inspected by hand prior to soaking. By inspecting each rug carefully, we are able to determine the fiber content of the rug, any damage to the rug, and the type of dye used in the rug. Only after performing this inspection are we able to determine the proper method for cleaning that specific rug.

Why San Diego Homeowners and Designers Choose Us

Reputation matters in this line of work and ours has been earned rug by rug. Interior designers, estate managers, and homeowners throughout San Diego rely upon us in part because we treat every rug as if it belonged to our own family.

A few things that set us apart:

We perform rug cleanings on site in our dedicated facility in San Diego rather than shipping your rug out of state

We will assess your rug in person and provide you with an honest assessment as to whether or not your rug needs to be professionally cleaned

We are licensed and insure all of our rugs during the cleaning process

We are experienced in handling rugs of significant value including antiques and museum quality rugs

Every rug that departs our facility passes through a quality control process prior to being delivered to its destination.

A Process Built Around Your Rug, Not Our Schedule

The rug cleaning process begins the moment the rug arrives at our facility. Upon arrival, rugs are photographed, tested for colorfastness, and have dry soil removed through a process called “dusting.” Many rug cleaning companies do not perform this process, as it removes the majority of dry soil that tends to live within the rug fiber pile. Once dusting is performed, rugs are washed, rinsed, dried, groomed, and inspected to ensure quality.

The oriental rug cleaning process takes several days to complete. We would rather take the extra days to properly clean your rug rather than rushing the process and potentially damaging your rug during the cleaning process.

Serving San Diego and the Surrounding Communities

From Rancho Bernardo all the way to Poway, from La Jolla to Point Loma, we serve rug owners throughout San Diego County with our oriental rug cleaning. If you’d like, we also offer pickup and delivery for your rug.
